DESIGN PROCESS

The very thought of owning a stunning new kitchen is hugely exciting – but thanks to the vast number of design options and cabinetry choices, it could be a little daunting too.

The Spillers kitchen team will ensure the process of designing and installing the furniture is enjoyable and memorable from start to finish. Importantly, the designer you meet at day one will look after you throughout the whole project, advising on each aspect of the kitchen – including work surfaces, appliances and flooring. Spillers also work closely with teams of electricians, plumbers and builders, making building works and alterations a seamless part of our complete service.

Whilst every kitchen is unique, the following few steps offer a brief explanation of the journey you can expect with Spillers.

​Visiting the Showroom

Spillers have been designing and installing beautiful, functional kitchens tailored around individual lifestyles for years. The journey to your own new kitchen begins with a visit to our Somerset showroom. See for yourself the exquisite quality of our kitchens, discover our range of superb appliances and finishing touches and discuss your ideas with one of our experienced designers. We’re able to deliver the highest quality at every stage for a result that is unique to you and your home.

Free Home Visit

The designer you met in the showroom will make a free of charge visit to your home. During this meeting, all measurements will be taken and plenty of time will be allowed to discuss likes and dislikes, learn about your lifestyle and get a feel for the available space and how it could work with a new kitchen. Simple questions, such as “are you left or right handed?” are so important at this early stage.

Every Spillers designer will bring flair, up to date industry knowledge and most important, a good pair of ears to the table. Listening to (and then acting on) our clients ideas and wishes is an integral part of any successful kitchen design.

Showroom Presentation

No more than two weeks after the home visit, you’ll be invited back to the showroom for a presentation. Computer wizardry and detailed architectural plans will bring the proposed new kitchen to life and each aspect of the design will be explained, including the cost, appliance choices and any details relating to the installation.

We hope you like what you see, but it will always be possible to develop the kitchen design, making as many tweaks as necessary.

Survey

When the designer’s efforts meet with your complete approval and everything can be agreed, a pre-fit survey will be arranged with the designer and installation team. This important visit ensures all measurements are as predicted and the kitchen specification is correct prior to manufacture. It also provides an excellent opportunity to meet the team who will be fitting your new furniture before the project commencement.

We are proud to say the same designer that has looked after you from day one will remain in charge of the project throughout the whole process.

Manufacturing

All our kitchens are built to the highest standards. The craftsmen and women combine traditional cabinet making techniques with state of the art technology. The finest materials are used and each piece of timber or veneer is individually selected, ensuring naturally occurring patterns and colours work to enhance the furniture design. 

Installation and After Sales

At Spillers, we operate closely with a small number of highly experienced installers, all of whom have worked within the bespoke kitchen industry for many years. You will have already met them during the pre-fit survey, but rest assured they will respect your home, carry out the kitchen fit with the minimum of disruption and remove all packaging, leaving the room clean and tidy.

Your new kitchen may now be finished and fully functioning, but this is only the start of our relationship. Spillers will look after your kitchen long after any guarantees have expired, ensuring total peace of mind. Many of our clients stay in touch, regularly visiting the showroom or attending our cookery demonstrations.
